Hyundai Tucson Spares
The Hyundai Tucson has been a top-selling SA SUV across four generations — JM, LM (sold here as ix35), TL and the current NX4. Theta II 2.0 petrol, the 2.0 CRDi diesel and Smartstream T-GDI engines all see strong parts demand. We move large numbers of 6-speed autos, DCT 7-speed gearboxes, bumpers and side mirrors. Genuine Theta II rebuild parts are kept in regular stock.

Hyundai Tucson Spares — What We Stock
Hyundai Tucson spares are one of our highest-volume lines — the Tucson is the most-quoted Hyundai SUV at our Lenasia South yard across all four generations: JM (2004-2010), LM (2009-2015, sold locally as the ix35), TL (2015-2020) and the current NX4 (2020 onwards). School-run families, small-business pool cars and fleet operators all run Tucsons hard, which keeps donor supply excellent and pricing fair. Quote us your VIN, generation and engine code and we will confirm exact fitment and price on the same call.
Engine choice on the Tucson is straightforward but generation-specific. The JM was built around the G4GC 2.0 Beta petrol and a 2.7 Delta V6, with the D4EA 2.0 CRDi diesel for fleet buyers. The LM/ix35 brought in the G4KD 2.0 Theta II petrol and the D4HA 2.0 CRDi diesel — the engines that still drive most of the demand we see today. The TL introduced the G4NA 2.0 Nu, the 1.6 T-GDI and the D4FD 1.7 CRDi alongside the new 7-speed dual-clutch box. The current NX4 runs Smartstream 1.6 T-GDI and 2.0 petrol units. The full picture sits on our Hyundai engines for sale page if you need to confirm exactly what fits your vehicle.
Theta II 2.4 engine knock — the recall driver
Honest disclosure up front: the Theta II 2.4 GDI petrol (the G4KJ — fitted to the Tucson's related Sonata and Santa Fe siblings, and to imported US-spec Tucsons) is the engine behind one of the largest engine recalls in modern automotive history. The fault is a connecting-rod bearing failure that announces itself with a metallic knock from the bottom end, drops oil pressure and ultimately seizes the engine. Hyundai and Kia have settled multi-billion-rand class actions in the US on this issue and have rolled out a Knock Sensor Detection System software update plus extended warranties on affected blocks. The local 2.0 Theta II G4KD that powers most SA-market Tucsons is much less affected, but if you are buying a used 2.4 — or you are hearing knock on any Theta II — replace the short block or the full engine. We carry inspected used Theta II units and back them with a clear warranty on the rotating assembly.
Beyond the engine, the Tucson's highest-demand items are bumpers, side mirrors, headlight assemblies, AC condensers and the A6MF1 6-speed automatic gearbox on the LM and TL. The 7-speed D7GF1 dual-clutch fitted to TL Sport variants is also a common rebuild candidate — clutch packs and mechatronic units are stocked. If you need a complete drivetrain rather than a piece-by-piece rebuild, our used Hyundai gearbox range is the fastest route to a quote.
Body and trim parts cross-fit usefully with the ix35 on the LM platform — front fenders, doors and tailgates are essentially interchangeable, which keeps panel pricing reasonable. Interior trim, mirror glass and door cards are also LM-shared. On the TL and NX4 the parts are Tucson-specific. For body and lighting parts in particular, browse our Hyundai body panels category for current stock.
Pricing on Tucson spares is sensible if you buy used — our average Theta II 2.0 engine runs at roughly half the price of a new crate motor, with the same inspected-and-warranted backing. CRDi diesel pricing depends heavily on injector condition and turbo health, both of which we test before the part leaves the yard. Nationwide courier delivery from Lenasia South typically takes two to three working days to most Gauteng addresses, and three to five working days to Cape Town, Durban, PE or Bloemfontein. Send us your VIN or registration number and the part you need, and we'll come back with a confirmed price and an honest stock answer the same day.
