Hyundai Azera Spares
The Hyundai Azera (also known as Grandeur) is a large luxury sedan sold in SA in limited numbers across the TG and HG generations. The Lambda 3.3 and 3.8 V6 petrol engines are the highest-value Azera parts we move, along with 6-speed automatics and leather seat sets. Mu 2.7 V6 engines also see steady demand as Azera owners maintain older cars.

Hyundai Azera Spares — What We Stock
Hyundai Azera spares are available from our Lenasia South yard across both SA generations — TG (2005-2011) and HG (2011-2017). The Azera is a high-value, low-volume model: we move Lambda V6 engines, A6LF2 6-speed automatic transmissions, leather seat sets and model-specific body panels that local dealers discontinued years ago. If your Azera needs a major part and the dealer network cannot help, call us directly — we are usually the fastest route at a fraction of parallel-import pricing.
The Hyundai Azera sat at the top of Hyundai's passenger-car range in South Africa from 2005 through 2017, sold across two generations — the TG and the HG. Globally the same car is marketed as the Grandeur, and that branding tells you exactly where it positions: a full-size luxury sedan aimed at the executive segment, sitting above the Sonata and competing with the likes of the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Local volumes were always modest, which is part of what makes the Azera interesting for a used-parts yard — owners hold on to them, and the cars need specialist support long after dealer interest has faded.
Engine choice on the Azera leans heavily on Hyundai's V6 families. The TG (2005-2011) shipped with the G6EA 2.7 Mu V6 in the lower trims and the G6DA 3.3 or G6DB 3.8 Lambda V6 at the top of the range. The HG facelift introduced the Theta II 2.4 four-cylinder for fuel-conscious buyers, with the Lambda II 3.0 and 3.3 V6 carrying the premium variants. The Lambda V6 is the engine that defines this car — smooth, powerful and, in our experience, one of the most under-rated Hyundai engines ever built. A clean used Lambda short block holds real value.
At Hyundai Spares SA the Azera is a high-value, low-volume model. We do not turn over Azera parts at the rate of a Getz or i20, but the parts we move are bigger — full Lambda V6 engines, A6LF2 6-speed automatic transmissions, complete leather seat sets, panoramic sunroof assemblies and the model-specific bumper and lighting hardware that has long since been discontinued by local Hyundai dealers. If your Azera needs a major part, we are usually a faster and cheaper route than a parallel import.

Common Parts We Stock
Common Azera Issues
Lambda V6 Timing Chain Stretch (TG)
Symptom: Rattle on cold start that fades after a few seconds on higher-mileage TG Azera Lambda V6 units timing chain stretch from oil neglect.
Fix: Timing chain kit replacement resolves early-stage rattle. Used Lambda V6 short blocks in stock for advanced cases. A genuinely under-rated engine when maintained properly. From R22,000
A6LF2 6-Speed Auto Fluid Failure (HG)
Symptom: The A6LF2 sealed automatic develops harsh shifts and torque-converter shudder when never serviced the most common Azera transmission request on HG cars.
Fix: Complete used A6LF2 automatics in stock. Fluid service resolves early-stage shudder. Mu 2.7 VVT solenoid failures on TG cars also common. From R14,000
Comfort Feature Electrical Gremlins (HG)
Symptom: Heated and cooled seat failures, electronic parking brake actuator faults and infotainment head-unit issues on later HG Azeras comfort-feature electrical is the main weak point.
Fix: Used clusters, infotainment head units and AFL adaptive headlight modules in stock. Panoramic sunroof drain channel blockage also a common HG complaint. From R3,500

Common Azera Issues
The Lambda V6 engines, while genuinely good, can develop a stretched timing chain on higher-mileage TG cars — the symptoms are a rattle on cold start that fades after a few seconds. The Mu 2.7 V6 is largely trouble-free but the variable valve timing solenoids fail occasionally. On the HG, the 6-speed A6LF2 automatic is a sealed-for-life unit that absolutely needs a fluid service every 80,000 km despite what the handbook says — neglected units are the most common reason for Azera transmission requests.
Electrical gremlins on the Azera tend to cluster around the comfort features — heated and cooled seats, the electronic parking brake actuators on later HG cars, and the panoramic sunroof drain channels. Suspension air shocks were never fitted to SA-spec cars, so the conventional dampers wear at predictable intervals. We routinely stock used clusters, infotainment head units, AFL adaptive headlight modules and the chrome-edged grille assemblies that are otherwise impossible to source locally.
