Our Story
Hyundai Spares is the trading name of Reddys Metal Worx, an independent auto-dismantler and aftermarket parts supplier based at 666 Cromwell Street, Lenasia South, Johannesburg. We are a family-run, value-led business — not a chain, not a dealership and not affiliated with Hyundai Motor Company. We specialise in Hyundai, full stop, and our reputation is built on getting the right part to the right customer at a fair price.
Lenasia South sits on the southern edge of greater Johannesburg, an area where families and small businesses lean heavily on dependable, affordable transport. Hyundais are everywhere here — H100 bakkies running deliveries, Getz and i10 hatches doing the school run, Tucsons and ix35s handling family duty. We see these cars come through our gates every week and we know what tends to fail.
From our yard we serve Hyundai owners right across South Africa, covering all 20 models in the local lineup — from the early 1990s Accent through to current-shape Tucson, Creta and Santa Fe. What We Stock
Our inventory covers engines, transmissions, body panels and electrical/suspension components. On the engine side we carry the Theta II petrol family (G4KD 2.0, G4KE 2.4) for Tucson, ix35, Sonata and Santa Fe, the Kappa range (G3LA 1.0, G4LA 1.2) for i10, i20 and Atos, the Gamma family (G4FC 1.6, G4FG 1.6) for Accent, Elantra and Creta, and the CRDi diesel line — D4CB 2.5 for H100 and H1, D4HB 2.2 for Santa Fe, D4HA 2.0 for ix35 and Tucson, D4FB 1.6 for i30. For gearboxes we cover the A6GF1 and A6LF1 six-speed automatics, the A8LF1 eight-speed found in newer Tucson and Santa Fe, the 7DCT dual-clutch fitted to i30 and Veloster, and the IVT continuously variable transmission on current Kappa cars. M5BF1, M6GF1 and M6CF1 manual gearboxes cover the bakkie range and earlier petrol cars. Body panels are a large part of our trade — bonnets, doors, bumpers, fenders, tail-gates, grilles, headlight and tail-light assemblies, side mirrors and bakkie load bodies. On the electrical side we hold ECUs, throttle bodies, crank and cam position sensors, alternators, starters and ignition coils. Suspension stock covers shocks, struts, control arms, leaf spring sets for the H100 and Mighty, and complete wheel-hub assemblies.
